Gunvor Bjerre

About

Gunvor Bjerre (born 1942) is a Danish journalist, author and actress who spent decades at DR's children's and youth department. She is widely recognised as the voice of the Danish Pippi Longstocking series and as the writer of songs for the beloved DR show Kaj og Andrea. Since leaving DR she has continued writing children's books and articles, and co-authored a biographical and art-historical study of Bergithe Johannessen, the first Faroese person admitted to the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

    The book 'Bergithe Johannessen - a pioneer in Faroese art' is presented at the Faroe Islands book festival BÓKADAGAR 2025 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Bergithe Johannessen's admission to the Academy of Fine Arts.

    Gunvor Bjerre served as editor on the short documentary 'Sommergæsten' about Bergithe Johannessen, which had its Danish premiere at the North Atlantic Film Days 2024 at Nordatlantens Brygge in Copenhagen.

    The illustrated magazine portrayed the 81-year-old Gunvor Bjerre, who remains active as a speaker and journalist - among other things, she narrated the jury's statement at TVPRISEN.
