Jakob Bro (b. 1978 in Aarhus) is a Danish guitarist and composer based in Copenhagen who, since his ECM Records leader debut with Gefion (2015), has become one of Europe's most distinctive jazz guitarists. He has released more than 20 albums as a bandleader, collaborated with figures such as Paul Motian, Lee Konitz, Bill Frisell and Joe Lovano, and runs his own Copenhagen-based label Loveland Music. His playing is marked by a meditative, spacious quality that moves freely between jazz, free improvisation and experimental music.
