John Scofield (born 1951 in Dayton, Ohio) is one of the most influential American jazz guitarists of the past five decades. He played with Miles Davis in the early 1980s and has since released more than 40 albums spanning bebop, funk, and country-jazz. Three Grammy Awards - for 'Past Present' (2016) and 'Country for Old Men' (2017) - confirm his standing as a major figure in the genre.
