Jonny Hefty is the stage name of Jakob Ørum (born 18 October 1969 in Sulsted), a rapper from Aalborg who emerged from the North Jutland underground scene of the 1990s. He broke through with 'Muggen røv til dit ansigt', which won a DR P3 competition and earned him a record deal, and has since become best known as one half of the long-running duo Jonny Hefty & Jøden. He received the Nordjyske Kulturpris in 2014 and the Ordkraftprisen in 2020, and is also active as a street artist and poet.
Jonny Hefty declared himself cancer-free and returned to the stage, including at the celebration of Danish hip-hop's 40th anniversary at Forum in Copenhagen.
Jonny Hefty announced in February 2024 that he had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer in December 2023 and was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Heartbeats published a major portrait of Jonny Hefty, which also marked 25 years as a duo with Jøden.
