Nordglød Kammerkor is an amateur chamber choir based in Virum, north of Copenhagen, founded in 2018 and registered as an independent association under Dansk Oplysnings Forbund. Its 32 singers perform classical a cappella choral music in four- to eight-part arrangements, drawing primarily on the Nordic musical tradition. Conductor and artistic director Karen Ertbølle Madsen trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and selected each singer with a pure, Nordic tone as her guiding ideal. The choir consistently pairs classical repertoire with contemporary themes such as nature, landscape and the turning of the seasons.
Nordglød Kammerkor presents in September 2026 the concert series 'A Piece of Your Earth' at three locations: Sallerupgård in Lundby, Lerbjerggård in Melby and Classic Car House in Kgs. Lyngby - with focus on agriculture, landscape and the relationship between humans and nature.
For the concerts in the 'A Piece of Your Earth' series, the choir premieres a new arrangement of Jeppe Aakjær's 'Still Heart, Sun Goes Down', written especially for Nordglød by the award-winning young composer Gustav Ertbølle.
On 26 March 2026, Nordglød Kammerkor performed in Kildevældskirken with a spring concert about twilight and Nordic light, featuring works by, among others, Ola Gjeilo, James MacMillan and Karin Rehnqvist.
In June 2024, the choir performed in Koncertkapellet in Roskilde with a midsummer concert under the title 'I Believe There is Most Beauty in Denmark'.
