Kresten Osgood leads his quintet from the drums, bringing together Erik Kimestad (NO) on trumpet, Mads Egetoft on saxophone, Jeppe Zeeberg on piano, and Matthias Petri on bass.

Osgood himself has over 100 albums to his name, has toured the world, and collaborated with artists such as Brad Mehldau, Joshua Redman, and Paul Bley. He is also a rapper, composer, pianist, and TV host - and he was the one who played rock and roll at Crown Prince Frederik's wedding.

About the venue: Gnisten Ry

Gnisten is a music and culture venue housed in a former heating plant on Møllevej in Ry, just 300 metres from the railway station. It is run entirely by volunteers through the association Musikværket Ry. The programme ranges from jazz and folk to rock and classical, with room for both established artists and emerging talent on the intimate stage. The name Gnisten (The Spark) refers to the building's original life as a power works.

Tenor saxophonist Mads Lund Egetoft is a key figure in Danish avant-garde jazz - recognised for his raw, Archie Shepp-inflected sound and for leading Doom Orchestra, a unique ten-piece horn ensemble built around his tightly structured, hyper-minimalist writing. His credits include the DMA-winning group Boujeloud and ongoing work with Kresten Osgood's quintet.
