Mathias Heise (born 1993 in Rødovre, near Copenhagen) is a Danish jazz harmonica player, composer and arranger who won the Chromatic Harmonica World Championship in 2013 at the age of 20. He was the first student admitted to the Danish Rhythmic Music Conservatory with harmonica as his main instrument, and has since released eight albums under his own name while appearing on more than 75 recordings by other artists. His awards include the Ben Webster Prize (2017, as its youngest-ever recipient) and the Danish Crown Prince Couple's Stardust Award (2016).
The album 'A Love Supreme Revisited' with DR Big Band was released on May 22, 2026 on April Records - Heise's reinterpretation of John Coltrane's classic from 1965, arranged for harmonica and big band.
