About

múm are an experimental band from Reykjavík, Iceland, founded in 1997 by Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, later joined by twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir. Their sound weaves electronic glitch beats with acoustic instruments and delicate vocals, earning them a place among the key figures of Icelandic experimental music. They broke through internationally with "Finally We Are No One" (2002) on FatCat Records, and in 2025 returned with their seventh album "History of Silence" - their first full release in twelve years.
