Savage Rose

About

The Savage Rose is a Danish psychedelic rock band formed in 1967 by brothers Thomas and Anders Koppel and drummer Alex Riel, with Annisette Koppel joining as lead vocalist in 1968. Their self-titled debut album that year helped define Danish rock as an art form in its own right. The score for Flemming Flindt's Royal Ballet production Dødens Triumf (1972) became one of the best-selling instrumental records in Scandinavian history. With more than 25 albums across five decades, the band remains one of Denmark's most enduring and politically committed acts.
