About

Ying-Hsueh Chen (b. 1983) is a Taiwanese-Danish percussionist and composer based in Copenhagen since 2006. A graduate of the Juilliard School and the Royal Danish Academy of Music, she is known for her interpretations of Iannis Xenakis and for Sonic Architecture - a concert series that turns the acoustics of historic buildings into active participants in her improvised performances. She received the Danish Composers' Association Music Prize in 2018 and the Danish Music Critics' Artist Award in 2023.
