About the venue

Esbjerg Byhistoriske Arkiv is the municipal archive for Esbjerg Kommune, collecting records of both public and private origin connected to the city. It is housed in a building from 1904, originally built as a technical school and designed by architect C.H. Clausen. Beyond standard archival work, the institution runs courses, public city walks and a digital image archive of more than 100,000 photographs. Admission is free.
