About the venue

Valbyparken is Copenhagen's largest park, covering 64.2 hectares across the Valby and Vesterbro/Kongens Enghave districts, stretching towards Kalvebod Strand. It opened on 1 September 1939 on the site of the old Valby common, which had served as a landfill, and was listed as a protected area in 1966. Today it holds 17 theme gardens - laid out when Copenhagen was European City of Culture in 1996 - a rose garden with around 12,000 plants, the city's largest nature playground, and a beach. The park also hosts major events such as Grøn Koncert and the Copenhagen Medieval Market.
