Workshop in Modern Weave Knitting with Trine Ellegaard
SG25, Haderslev · 325 kr. · ≈ 43 €
This workshop explores weave knitting - a technique where stitches are lifted loosely to create structures and graphic patterns. You work with only one colour at a time, making the technique surprisingly accessible for those who want to work with colours without diving into traditional multicolour knitting.
The day begins with an introduction to weave knitting and a review of different techniques, including single-colour structural patterns and multicolour graphic patterns. Participants then work practically with small knitting swatches, exploring how the technique can be varied. There is also a focus on colour composition - from high contrast to tone-on-tone. Throughout, instructor Trine Ellegaard shares her work as a knit designer and brings knitting swatches, patterns, and finished designs. There is an opportunity to purchase weave knitting project patterns, hand-dyed yarn, and yarn kits.
Each participant receives a compendium of patterns and techniques to take home.
Bring: knitting needles in various sizes, primarily 3.5-5.0 mm (preferably circular needles with good cable length), yarn scraps with contrast and/or tone-on-tone, scissors, stitch markers, and optionally pencil and paper.
