Hvalfugl

Hvalfugl is an Aarhus-based trio consisting of Jonathan Fjord Bredholt (piano and harmonium), Jeppe Lavsen (guitar) and Anders Juel Bomholt (double bass). Their music is built on tight interplay, where elegant piano figures and ethereal harmonium textures are woven together with crystalline guitar themes and a swaying double bass - all with subtle use of effects that give the sound both warmth and depth.

The trio debuted in 2017 and has since released the albums By (2017), Som En Faldskærm (2019) and Øjeblikke Vi Husker (2020). In 2025, the double LP Bag Vore Øjne Strømmer Drømme Sagte Forbi was released, bringing together three years of work and EP releases in one unified work with guest musicians and new musical directions. That same year they received the award Live Act of the Year at DMA Jazz.
