Baby SanseTummel & First Aid (babies 1-5 months) Class 1 — Prismen, Copenhagen

Baby SanseTummel & First Aid is for babies around 1-5 months old and their parent. The group meets on Tuesdays in November and December - 6 sessions total: 3/11, 10/11, 17/11, 24/11, 1/12, and 8/12. If a session is cancelled by the instructor, a replacement session is offered on 15/12. Group 1 runs 9:40-10:30 (including 5 min. tidying up/disinfection).

The activities focus on the outer senses (sight, smell, hearing, touch) and inner senses (balance, proprioception, muscle and joint sense), with special emphasis on cross-pattern movements and tummy time. Throughout the season you'll work with massage, beginner somersaults, singing, swinging and rolling, large balls, and colourful scarves. Many exercises also get the adult moving. Each session includes a short first aid topic (about 5-10 min.), such as foreign objects in the airway, febrile convulsions, or burns.

If your baby is sleeping when you arrive, you can do the exercises with a practice doll, take stretching exercises home - or attend the other Baby SanseTummel group that day (see flex time below). The instructor is a qualified physiotherapist and first aid instructor and can adapt the exercises if you have postpartum challenges. You don't need to wait for the 8-week check-up.

Twins can participate at no extra cost. Registered babies are expected to follow the public vaccination programme. Bring a lock for the pram and a sheet for the mat (or your own mat). Registration is binding, and a fee is added when purchasing tickets.

Flex time: You are registered for group 1 or 2, but choose freely from week to week which group works best. The participating adult should be comfortable with some postpartum chat and pelvic floor exercises during the session.

English-speakers are welcome - the teacher will translate whenever needed.
