Sønderborg Municipality offers a free course for relatives of people with acquired brain injury. The course is aimed at spouses, partners, adult family members, and close friends.

The course runs over 4 evenings starting 22 October 2026. The programme covers brain structure and function, physical and mental changes after acquired brain injury, family life and the role of relatives, and experience sharing. Participants can also suggest topics as the course progresses.

The instructors are brain injury coordinator Lene Ullum Christensen and psychologist Eva Krog Pedersen.

About the venue: Sundhedscentret Sønderborg

Sundhedscentret is Sønderborg Municipality's health promotion unit, based on Grundtvigs Allé. It runs free programmes for residents dealing with chronic illness, weight issues, anxiety, depression, sleep problems and smoking, among other areas. Most courses begin with an initial consultation with a health adviser to map out the right plan.
