Landscape in Literature

What stories does the landscape hold - and what stories do we tell about it? Nature has always had a place in literature, and in a time when our relationship with nature feels increasingly fragile, the question may be more pressing than ever.

For this event, author Gry Stokkendahl Dalgas is invited to discuss her latest novel "Calluna". The novel follows a young person's attempt to find footing in a world that breaks down both people and nature - a story about alienation, belonging, and longing for a different life, but also a love letter to the species and landscapes that are disappearing. The conversation ranges widely, from heathland to butterflies, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. Gry Stokkendahl Dalgas is interviewed by facilitator Bjørk Friis Olafsson.

Gry Stokkendahl Dalgas (b. 1990) is a graduate of the Talentskolen Author Programme and made her debut in 2019 with "Det er herfra jeg vil begynde at tale, disse ord kan finde vej", which won her the Bodil and Jørgen Munch-Christensen Debut Prize. In 2022 she received the Poetry Prize for "At performe transkønnet vrede", and that same year the poem "Kudan; eller Kalven" was published. "Calluna" is her novel debut.
