Zadie Smith - Live Stream from the Royal Library

Zadie Smith is receiving the H.C. Andersen Literary Prize 2026, and for this occasion she is making one of her rare visits to Denmark. From the Black Diamond, an interview with her about her authorship will be livestreamed directly to Biblioteket Sønderborg.

Smith debuted with White Teeth in 2000 and has since written novels, essays, short stories, drama, and children's books. She is known for her eye for multicultural environments, where identity is shaped by race, class, and origin, and for social criticism spanning from the British class system to tech giants' influence on our behaviour and self-understanding.

The event takes place in English at Biblioteket Sønderborg, Level 2, Indsigten, Nørre Havnegade 15, 6400 Sønderborg.
