Bring Your Bike into the Future of Nordsøkvarter
Orientkaj Metrostation, Copenhagen
On September 16, 3-7 p.m., a 6 km Urban Safari by bike takes you through Ydre Nordhavn. The tour starts at Orientkaj Metro Station and ends at Tunnelfabrikken. Bring your own bike - it is required to participate. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Along the way, you visit 12 key sites, including the old fishing harbour, the upcoming metro station, the Nordhavn Tunnel, and the future park at Nordhavn's northern tip. At selected stops, experts give short talks and answer questions; at others, there is dialogue about the area's qualities and challenges. The tour concludes with a group conversation using the Fishbowl method, followed by drinks, snacks, and networking.
The goal is to gather input for the upcoming Nordsøkvarter, which will add new housing, parks, green connections, a new metro station, and urban life to Nordhavn. In early 2027, five teams will compete to design the quarter, and the organisers want to hear from residents before the competition begins.
The Fishbowl method is a structured conversation format where some participants are active in the discussion while others listen and are gradually invited in. Those who step into the conversation take on a role - for example, resident, developer, urban planner, municipal employee, or other stakeholder - and explore the quarter from that perspective.
Can't make it on September 16? On September 26, there is an information meeting with a walking tour of Nordsøkvarter. It is also possible to participate in the dialogue online - it takes three minutes to answer five questions about Nordhavn's future.
