Peace in an Uncertain World

Peace in an Uncertain World: Monday 16 November 2026, 17:30–19:15, Alsion, Sønderborg. Tickets cost 100 kr.

Sønderborg Folkeuniversitet focuses on disarmament and arms control diplomacy. With Trump back in power in the USA, war in Europe, and European rearmament in response to Russia, the lecture raises questions about what dominant peace theories actually say, how the world's conflicts have evolved since the Cold War, and whether there is still reason to trust the UN and arms control in an era marked by global fragmentation and polarization.

This is the 4th lecture in the series "Peace in an Uncertain World", originally held in autumn 2025 but cancelled due to illness. It is a standalone lecture - you do not need to have attended the three previous ones.

The lecture takes place in room U205 at Alsion.
