Duruflé's Requiem and Motets - Bach Choir: Saturday 14 November 2026, 19:30–20:45, Helligaandskirken, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 150 kr.

Duruflé's Requiem opus 9 was begun in 1941 and completed in 1947. The work follows the tradition of the Catholic Requiem Mass - related to Fauré's Requiem - and is based on liturgical texts in Latin and Greek distributed across nine mass sections, with Pie Jesu for mezzo-soprano solo as the focal point. At both concerts, Duruflé's four Gregorian motets a cappella will also be performed.

Copenhagen Bach Choir, comprising around 35 experienced amateur singers, is conducted by Christian Tophøj Buur. The soloists are Anna Carline Olesen (mezzo-soprano), Lauritz Jakob Thomsen (baritone), Isak Birkemose (organ) and Juliane B. Soewarta (cello).
