Become a Support Person for Parents with Children in Care · Borgsmester Andersens Vej 26, Sønderborg

Support Person Information Meeting: Tuesday 3 November 2026, 17:00–19:00, Borgsmester Andersens Vej 26, Sønderborg.

Sønderborg Municipality is recruiting support persons for parents whose children have been placed outside the home. An information meeting will be held on 3 November at 17:00, where interested candidates can learn more about the role.

Placement often raises difficult thoughts and feelings for parents, and they have the right to have a support person assigned. The support person's role is to help parents process the situation and understand the different perspectives involved in the placement.

Specific tasks may include attending meetings with the municipality, helping parents understand letters, care plans and contact decisions, and strengthening cooperation between parents, the municipality and the child's placement facility. The support person must be independent of the municipality and must not have prior knowledge of or opinions about the specific case. A criminal record check is conducted, and the role involves confidentiality and enhanced reporting obligations. Support persons are employed on contract.

The information meeting will be held in Glassalen at Borgmester Andersens Vej 26, 6400 Sønderborg, on 3 November at 17:00.
