Limfjord Writers

J.P. Jacobsen, Johannes V. Jensen and Thit Jensen are well-known figures in Danish literary history - but what about Nicoline Bjergby, Johannes Buchholtz, Aase Hansen and Bertel Budtz-Müller? They are largely forgotten, despite all having roots in the Limfjords region.

Else Bisgaard and Susanne V. Knudsen focus on the region's writers from the period 1820 to 1930, when literature here flourished with a force that left its mark both locally and nationally. Known and overlooked names are treated side by side.

Else Bisgaard holds a cand.mag. in Danish and religion and is a lecturer at Thy Mors HF&VUC. Susanne V. Knudsen holds a cand.phil. in Nordic languages and literature, is a dr.phil., professor emerita and author. Both grew up in Thy and now live with a view of the Limfjord. Together they have written Limfjords Poets. Literary History 1820 - 1930, published by Limfjordsforlaget.

The lecture costs 50 kr. and is arranged in collaboration between Holstebro Valgmenighed and Holstebro Bibliotek.
