A Tomato's Life

In this nearly wordless solo performance, the youngest children (0-4 years) and their adults visit a gardener's greenhouse. Through animation and music, the performance tells the story of birth, fertility, love, death and resurrection - all as a tribute to the tomato plant and its slow, cyclical world.

All props are made from recycled materials, crocheted, sewn or hand-painted. The plant grows with a pull of a string, insects are animated with a stick, and Jacob Gurevitsch's music sets the mood together with sound effects from an autoharp.
