Hans Nørkjær Franch on Knausgård: Tuesday 9 February 2027, 14:30–16:30, Festsalen i sognegården, Viborg. Tickets cost 50 kr.
High school afternoon in the festival hall of the parish house in Viborg with author and vicar Hans Nørkjær Franch. The topic is Karl Ove Knausgård, whose works have been translated into more than 35 languages and who is regarded by many as one of the greatest Nordic writers of our time.
Knausgård's authorship is characterized by muted extremes. Beauty and ugliness, mania and the ordinary, exception and everyday life alternate, much like the weather shifts in Scandinavia. In his recent books, there have been shifts in his literary universe: the light has become brighter, and the darkness darker.
This sharpens the image of the existential pressure that Knausgård depicts so well. How does humanity find its way in a world that has forgotten God, and where the sky has shrunk to a vast empty space?
