Voices in Wax

Ulla Bendixen and Martin Ottosen from Sorten Muld bring old wax-cylinder folk waltzes from the Jutland heath to life at Koncertkapellet in Roskilde on Saturday, 21 November. The venue, which opened in May 2024 in the renovated Sankt Jørgensbjerg Chapel, is dedicated to classical and acoustic music with an emphasis on unamplified sound - ideal for hearing the voices close up. Bendixen and Ottosen interpret recordings around 100 years old on treadle organ, mandolin and nyckelharpa, breathing new life into the heath's voices. This concert is one of two Danish dates on the tour. Tickets cost 100-180 kr.
