Theatre on the Playground: HAMLET - in a Hot Dog Stand

The stage is a hot dog stand on the street - the grill is lit, and on the menu is HAMLET, Shakespeare's classic 'Danish drama'. Instead of words, the tools are hot dogs and everything else found in the stand. The story is the same: dangerous family relations, crime and consuming revenge - just served from a hot dog stand.

The production is a free adaptation of Hamlet with few words, but with plenty of music, drama ... and hot dogs. Featuring Lene Hummelshøj and Vika Dahlberg, directed by Matteo Destro, with set design by Christian Q Clausen, music by Thomas Dinesen and graphics by Daniel Seferian Spies. A production by Passepartout Theatre Production in collaboration with Dansk Rakkerpak.

The production premiered at Passage Festival in Helsingør in July 2026 and is now touring Denmark and internationally - in streets and squares where you normally meet a hot dog stand, not a theatre.
