Experience Trip to Sønderborg for Trainee Doctors

KBU, intro and HU doctors are invited to a free weekend trip to Sønderborg on 3-4 October 2026 - partners and spouses are welcome. Accommodation, meals and transport during the trip are covered; transport to and from Sønderborg and any parking are at your own expense.

The programme offers insight into working as a doctor in the region: you will meet three future general practitioners who will run the new Health Centre in Augustenborg, and HU doctors with local knowledge. There is concrete information about the housing market - neighbourhoods, price ranges and housing types - and accompanying partners will make contact with relevant companies and job networks. The trip also includes visits to the library, cultural centre and green areas, plus information about childcare, schools and community activities.

Saturday begins with a welcome at Hotel Alsik, professional presentations and a shared dinner. Sunday opens with a morning spa and breakfast for those who wish, before the trip goes to Augustenborg with a tour of the Health Centre, professional talks and a shared lunch. The full programme will be sent to registered participants before the weekend.

Everyone stays at Hotel Alsik in single or double rooms. Parking costs 140 kr./night in Havnen car park opposite the hotel; free parking is available under Kong Christians X Bridge. Remember comfortable shoes and clothes for outdoor activities, and bring swimwear if you want to use the spa on Sunday morning.

You will receive an automatic confirmation immediately, but are only finally registered when settlement coordinator Tatjana Rode sends a confirmation email after the deadline has passed.
