Cathrine Legardh celebrates the Swedish jazz icon Monica Zetterlund in this concert performed in Swedish with Jacob Christoffersen (piano) and Jesper Thorn (double bass).

The repertoire spans from folk and revue songs to jazz standards translated into Swedish by Beppe Wolgers, Hasse and Tage, Povel Ramel and Olle Adolphson - as well as songs from Zetterlund's collaboration with Bill Evans. Some numbers are well-known, others more overlooked gems from her catalogue.

Legardh has toured Scandinavia with great success and performed to full houses at venues including Stadsteatret in Stockholm and Lilla Teatern in Helsinki.

About the venue: KunstSmedjen på Musicon

KunstSmedjen på Musicon is a volunteer-run cultural centre with six small galleries, artist studios, open workshops, an art school and a stage for music and theatre. Exhibitions change roughly every three weeks, covering both Danish and international art. The stage hosts concerts, theatre performances and other events throughout the year, while a café serves refreshments. The centre is run by the association Kunst på Musicon, independent of public funding, and is housed in a former concrete factory in Roskilde's creative Musicon district - free admission daily 12:00-16:00.

A Copenhagen-based jazz singer with seven Storyville albums to her name, performing where Nordic folk tradition meets jazz standards and original songwriting in Danish and Swedish. Her latest album 'Stilhed & Storm' (2023), made with Icelandic saxophonist Sigurður Flosason, was nominated for Jazz Album of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards 2024.

Born in Copenhagen in 1967, Jacob Christoffersen ranks among the most seasoned pianists in Danish jazz - with over 60 recordings, the 2013 Ben Webster Prize and a decade at the keys in Shu-bi-dua. His long-running partnership with vocalist Sinne Eeg, which began in 2008, has taken them to stages across the globe.
