Releasing Shame in Copenhagen — Copenhagen Sexology School, Copenhagen

Workshop on shame and self-compassion led by Lisa Lawrie at Copenhagen Sexology School, Kompagnistræde 22, 1208 Copenhagen K - October 6, 2026, 18:00-21:00. All participants over 18 are welcome.

The workshop explores the difference between "I am wrong" and "I did something wrong that doesn't align with who I want to be". Drawing on research by American psychologist Brené Brown, participants work with four elements of shame resilience: staying authentic during shame experiences, navigating shame without compromising your values, leaving the experience with greater compassion than before, and moving from shame to self-compassion. Shame cannot survive when met in the light with understanding and compassion.

The session includes practical exercises for working through shame with self-compassion. Empathy is not about having the same experiences, but about recognizing the same feelings - and when we meet with empathy, shame diminishes. We all carry something with us.

The metro is just around the corner and is recommended over searching for parking. We start at exactly 18:00. Bring a sarong if you have one - you won't wear it, but you'll use it.
