Postnatal Event: Communication and Baby Sign Language
Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen · 60 kr. · ≈ 8 €
Lecture on communication and baby sign language at Sundby Library on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, 10-11. The event is aimed at pregnant people and their partners, as well as parents and grandparents with children aged 0-12 months.
Before your baby can speak, baby sign language, words, sound play and rhythm can help you understand what they are trying to tell you - and at the same time stimulate your child's language development. You will gain tools to read your baby's spontaneous signals, and the lecture also covers factors that can delay language development. During the session there is a singing game and a somersault or two, and the final few minutes are spent refreshing first aid techniques for foreign objects in the airways of babies aged 0-12 months.
You are welcome to switch freely between a chair and a yoga mat during the lecture. Nappy changes, breastfeeding, bottle feeding and baby sounds are welcome throughout. After the lecture, notes will be sent by email to interested participants.
The lecture takes place in Glassalen on the 1st floor of Kvarterhuset / Sundby Library. Prams are parked outside Kvarterhuset, optionally outside the room. The instructor is authorised physiotherapist and first aid instructor Marianne Mogensen, Fysio-Firstaid - author of the book "After Birth - Training and Baby Play".
