About

Charlotte Hjørringgaard Larsen is a Danish soprano from Brønderslev in North Jutland, trained at the Academy of Music in Aalborg and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. She has performed opera roles including Gilda in "Rigoletto", Blonde in "The Abduction from the Seraglio" and Xenia in "Boris Godunov" at venues such as Egnsteatret Undergrunden and the Aalborg Opera Festival, and has appeared as soloist with the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra. Between 2019 and 2022 she was a permanent member of the vocal ensemble at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, studying alongside with soprano teacher Cornelia Horak. Since returning to Denmark she has been active across opera, oratorio and Lieder.

    Charlotte Hjørringgaard Larsen performed as a soloist at a series of New Year's concerts with the Promenade Orchestra Lauseniana in, among others, Vejle and Herning.

    She performed in Støvring with a Vienna concert together with pianist Troels Roland with music by Lehár, Richard Strauss, Hugo Wolf, Mozart and Schubert.

  • 2023-12

    She sang the soprano part in Handel's "Messiah" with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra under conductor Christian Curnyn in Musikkens Hus, Thisted Church and Abildgård Church in Frederikshavn.

  • 2022

    Charlotte Hjørringgaard Larsen returned home to Denmark after three years in Vienna, where she sang in the Vocal Ensemble at St. Stephen's Cathedral and studied singing with Cornelia Horak.

  • 2018

    She was named Artist of the Year at Egnsteatret Undergrunden for her efforts, including as Gilda in "Rigoletto".
