Dimmu Borgir are a Norwegian symphonic black metal band from Oslo, formed in 1993. Known for fusing extreme metal with full orchestras and choirs, they broke through internationally with albums like "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" (2001) and "Death Cult Armageddon" (2003), the latter charting on the US Billboard. In May 2026 they released their tenth studio album, "Grand Serpent Rising", their first record in eight years.
Dimmu Borgir released their tenth studio album "Grand Serpent Rising" on May 22, 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records - the band's first album since "Eonian" in 2018.
Dimmu Borgir announced a North American tour in August 2026 with Hypocrisy and Suffocation as support, starting in New York on August 7.

Long-time guitarist Galder left the band in the summer of 2024 to reactivate his solo project Old Man's Child.
