About

New Jungle Orchestra is a Danish jazz ensemble founded in 1980 by guitarist and composer Pierre Dørge. The music weaves jazz together with influences from Africa, Asia and Europe, moving freely between tightly arranged passages and open improvisation. With more than 19 albums to their name, the orchestra has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Chicago Jazz Festival across more than 60 countries. Over the decades, guests have included John Tchicai, Marilyn Mazur, David Murray and Hugh Masekela.
