Vera Stæhr is a young Danish recorder player from Roskilde, currently studying at MGK Sjælland. She has won the Unge Spiller Klassisk competition and received the Roskilde Amdrups Prize. Since 2022 she has performed as one half of the duo Vera & William alongside guitarist William Damgaard Knudsen, and in 2023 the pair launched Hjemstavn Komponistprojekt - a Næstved-based initiative in which eight young composers from MGK and the conservatoire wrote new works for them.
Vera & William perform with the Hjemstavn program at Koncertkapellet in Roskilde, arranged by Roskilde Musikforening.
The premiere concert for all eight Hjemstavn works took place on February 28, 2025 at Rønnebæksholm.
Vera & William held a masterclass with Michala Petri & Lars Hannibal at Holmegaard Værk on November 26, 2024.
Composer and recorder player Kirstine Lindemann taught the duo at a masterclass at Rønnebæksholm on December 7, 2024.
