About the venue

Copenhagen City Archives is the city's official archive and has been housed at the town hall since the Middle Ages. The collections span 40,000 shelf metres and 250,000 maps and drawings, with the oldest surviving document dating to 1275. The reading room at Copenhagen City Hall is free and open to all, and the archive regularly hosts lectures, city walks and workshops on the history of the city.
