Vinterjazz 2027: Skov/Roar/Rifbjerg Trio

Skov/Roar/Rifbjerg Trio - Vinterjazz: Friday 12 February 2027, 20:00–22:00, Gnisten Ry, Ry. Tickets cost 250 kr.

Skov/Roar/Rifbjerg Trio performs at Gnisten in Ry as part of Vinterjazz 2027. The trio consists of Carsten Skov on vibraphone, Assi Roar on bass, and Frands Rifbjerg on drums.

The music is rooted in classical jazz but draws from exotic sounds and cinematic atmospheres. Imagine a classic Blue Note album that has taken a detour through a dusty American desert town and a film universe à la David Lynch and Quentin Tarantino. It shifts from elegant to raw, from contemplative to playful - one moment it's an exotic cocktail bar, the next a dark film soundtrack.

The trio debuted in 2024 with the album Busy Spectacle, which was chosen as "Album of the Week" on DR P8 Jazz and received strong reviews from both critics and listeners. Live performances are also filled with humor: the musicians share anecdotes from life on the road, musical tangents, and the interplay between three men who know each other well, teasing each other along the way.

Vinterjazz is a nationwide music festival that has run since 2001 and takes place every February. It lasts three weeks and consists of around 600 concerts at more than 180 venues and with organizers from Skagen to Svaneke.

There are both standing and seated places, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors at Gnisten open at 19:00. If you have a disability and need assistance getting in, you can contact the venue in advance.
