Sønderjysk stories and songs with Asta: Tuesday 3 November 2026, 19:00–21:00, Foreningshuset – Sønderborg Kaserne, Sønderborg. Tickets cost 125 kr.

Asta tells everyday stories, rhymes, and H.C. Andersen fairy tales retold in the Sønderjysk dialect - and you don't need any prior knowledge of the dialect to follow along. If an unfamiliar word comes up, you're welcome to ask during the performance.

The stories are seasoned with group singing, and Asta plays piano when well-known songs fit into the narratives. There's also an intermission, giving you time to let it all sink in.

Asta comes from Sundeved and points out that words can sound different depending on where in Sønderjylland you're from. That's part of experiencing the dialect. Children, young people, adults, and grandparents can all join - including those who don't speak Sønderjysk themselves.
