Children's Culture Festival in Sorø
Sorø Bibliotek, Sorø · 0–25 kr. · ≈ 3.3 €
Two days, two cities - the Children's Culture Festival 2026 takes place on Friday, August 28 in Dianalund and Saturday, August 29 in Sorø. Both days feature theatre, music, singing, movement and creative workshops for children and families.
Dianalund - Friday, August 28, 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM, Dianalund Library and Community Centre
Sorø - Saturday, August 29, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM, Sorø's Green Stage and surrounding cultural institutions
Both days follow the same programme: opening with song and movement, followed by the theatre performance "The Egg" by Det lille Verdens Teater - a show about seeds sprouting, eggs cracking and hatching, and the surprise of what emerges. After the performance, there is workshop time, and the day concludes with communal singing using materials from the workshops.
The workshops are identical both days and include five activities: artist Ida Exner guides children in making their own egg with a bird or fantasy figure inside. The library provides recycled materials for building colourful rattle eggs. Sorø Art Museum invites children to decorate stones with markers - perhaps an egg, a bird or a funny creature. Sorø Museum lets children braid flower crowns and paint their faces as trolls. Finally, participants can try different instruments under guidance from Sorø Music School - and the most skilled can play along in the final celebration.
The festival is a collaboration between KulturKaptajner, the Library, Sorø Music School, Sorø Art Museum, Sorø Museum, artists and associations, and is supported by Sorø Municipality's Fund for Cultural Purposes. Tickets are purchased at www.soroebib.dk - free for adults, 25 kr. for children (0-12 years).
