The Nutcracker

Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester presents Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker at Koncertsalen Alsion in Sønderborg on Thursday, 10 December 2026 at 19:30. This is a reduced version of the classic ballet, performed with the orchestra, dancers, and narrator Ole Sørensen. The story follows Clara through a magical night when a nutcracker doll comes to life and transforms into a prince - together they battle mischievous mice and journey to the Land of Sweets, where dancing snowflakes and waltzing flowers await. Koncertsalen Alsion is the region's main concert hall, seating up to 988 guests and hosting classical music, opera, and other performances. The orchestra is undertaking nine Danish dates in total, with additional performances scheduled across Sønderborg and Tønder in December and January.
