Collaborative Concert: Star Wars and The Planets

Once a year, the region's two symphony orchestras join forces for a joint concert. This time the theme is space.

The first part features John Williams' music from Star Wars - an orchestral suite with all the familiar themes. The second part is Holst's The Planets, a major work where each movement depicts a planet as an expression of a human force or state of mind: from war and love to mystery and eternity. Holst drew on astrology - not astronomy - when he composed the work in the early 1900s.

Christian Øland conducts and leads the collaborative concert for the first time with the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Sinfonieorchester.
