AMDI brings reality and fiction together as four actors on stage tell the story of Aksel, who returns to his old theatre - now run by his daughter Eva on modern, individualistic terms. His last success was an ancient Greek tragedy, and as he approaches the costumes again, memories flood back: his friend Mogens, who set him on the theatre's path, Den Rejsende Højskole, hibiscus tea, the world's largest mill, and revolution. Aksel clings to old ideals but must find his place in the present - both artistically and in his relationship with Eva. The production asks: what weighs more heavily, ideologies or relationships?

AMDI was nominated for Best Danish Play 2025, and Hans Henrik Clemensen was named Best Supporting Actor at Cph. Culture. Critics have received the production warmly, praising the text, direction, and four-strong cast for their powerful and moving exploration of shared dreams and cynicism.
