About

Asagraum is a Dutch black metal band founded in 2015 by vocalist and guitarist Obscura (Hanna van den Berg) in Zaanstad. The all-female-fronted group draws on classic Norwegian second-wave black metal while weaving in dark psychedelic textures. Three studio albums - most recently 'Veil of Death, Ruptured' (2023) on Edged Circle Productions - have established them as a prominent force in European underground black metal. The name fuses Asag, a demon from Sumerian mythology, with the German word Raum (room), evoking the ritual space the music is meant to conjure.
