Jacob Kaarsbo is an independent security policy analyst and commentator specialising in the Middle East and geopolitical risk. He spent 15 years at the Danish Defence Intelligence Service (FE), serving as head of Middle East analysis and deputy head of counter-terrorism, and has also worked for the UN and in EU institutions. Today he writes analysis for TV 2 and lectures on international security. In 2026 he co-authored "Undergravet", an intelligence-based assessment of the security threat posed by Trump's United States to Denmark and Europe.
Kaarsbo commented on TV 2 in March 2026 Russia's alleged sharing of intelligence with Iran about American military positions in the Middle East.
The book "Undermined - an intelligence assessment of the threat from Trump's USA", written together with journalist Steffen Nyboe McGhie, was published on February 5, 2026 by the publisher Momenta.
Kaarsbo was listed as a speaker at Security Day 2025 on November 4 at Industriens Hus, Copenhagen, together with minister Torsten Schack Pedersen.
In September 2025, Kaarsbo gave a lecture for LOF Nordjylland and Hjørring Libraries about cyber warfare and Ukraine - an event with over 170 registered participants.
Kaarsbo participated on June 12, 2025 in an expert panel at the People's Meeting about defense and the future.
