Chr. Hansen Auditoriet sits within the listed Kommunehospital complex from 1863 on Øster Farimagsgade, now home to the University of Copenhagen's Centre for Health and Society. The auditorium was built in 2007 by Over Byen Arkitekter and seats close to 500. The lecture hall itself is clad in black hard-fired brick, while a glass structure housing the foyer wraps around it. The name was chosen through a competition, honouring Christian Hansen, the architect of the original hospital.
