Online guidance for job seekers: 8 December – 10 October 2026, Online, Sønderborg. Admission is free.

Are you thinking about moving to Sønderborg Municipality and want to learn what it's like to find work there? This online guidance offers an insight into the local job market and shows you how to prepare your job search before you move. The session covers industries, employer expectations, and what you need to know when applying for jobs in Sønderborg and the rest of Denmark.

The offer is aimed at you if you are considering moving to the municipality within 6 to 24 months. It is especially designed for people from abroad who want to know what the Danish job market requires and can offer.

The guidance is a group session in English with general information and general advice. There is no individual counselling during the session itself, but afterwards you can ask questions.

Topics on the programme:

• Job opportunities in Sønderborg: overview of the job market, relevant industries and employers in Sønderborg Municipality.

• Danish and language requirements: how important Danish language skills are, which jobs you can get with English or German, and why it can pay off to start learning Danish before you move.

• Job search, CV and application: where to find positions, how to contact companies, and how to highlight your experience and skills to Danish employers.

• Foreign qualifications: how your education can be assessed, and why it can help in your job search. There will also be a brief explanation of when you need authorisation or special approval.

• Salary and employment terms: an introduction to collective agreements, pensions, holidays and unemployment insurance, as well as EU funds that can cover some of the costs if you move to Denmark and work here.

Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to the online guidance.

If you are moving to Sønderborg Municipality within the next five months, you can instead contact the municipality's partner job consultant at partnerjob@sonderborg.dk.
