Course: Write Your Memories

Write Your Memories - creative writing course: 18 January – 1 March 2027, Sorø Bibliotek, Sorø.

Learn to write down your memories and stories. Writing about your past lets you reflect on important moments and understand how you became who you are today. Your stories can be shared as a personal gift to family and friends, and by writing them yourself, you shape what gets remembered.

You don't need to be a skilled writer - what matters is that you can tell your stories. You'll get tools to write in simple, personal language about memories from childhood, youth, and adulthood, life's big experiences, funny stories, family traditions, love, values, and life lessons.

During the course you'll have time and space to remember, help getting started with writing, material for conversations with loved ones, and a warm community with other participants. If you wish, your memories can be stored at the Sorø Local History Archive after the course, becoming a resource for others in the future.

The course is arranged in collaboration with AOF and Sorø Local History Archive.

Practical information

Location: Store Læsesal, Sorø Bibliotek, Storgade 7A. The event takes place on the 1st floor, accessible by stairs and elevator.

Time: 6 sessions of 5 hours each, Mondays from 18 January to 1 March (not in week 7), 9:00-14:00. Bring a packed lunch and mobile phone, preferably also a laptop.

Target audience: Everyone is welcome.

Parking: Good parking options around Sorø Bibliotek & Bykontor. Limited-time parking on Storgade and the square. Several disabled parking spaces on Storgade, including two spaces at Biblioteksporten entrance to Den Grønne Scene. You can also park at Munkevænget and Holbergarkaden (entrance from Rolighedsvej).
