Assens Bibliotek is located on Willemoes' Plads as part of Kulturkajen, a cultural hub that also houses the tourist office and the meeting centre Kompasset. It serves as the main branch of AssensBibliotekerne, a network of six public libraries across the municipality. Alongside books, audiobooks, films and games, the library hosts author evenings, reading clubs, art exhibitions and events for children and adults. The county library in Assens was founded in 1925.
