Kollega Persson - Inside East Berlin: Tuesday 8 December 2026, 17:30–19:00, Sorø Bibliotek, Sorø. Admission is free.

Alice Persson shares the story of her book 'Kollega Persson', based on her own experiences in East Berlin during the 1970s. In 1975, at age 19, she moved to the East German side of Berlin, drawn by socialism and seeing the GDR as a personal ideal. She found work at Radio Berlin International, a spacious apartment, and new friends - but quickly discovered that East Germany was far from the paradise she had imagined.

During the lecture, she discusses the book and its creation. Since then, Alice Persson has worked as a correspondent, legal secretary, and IT professional in Copenhagen, and later as a body and shock trauma therapist in private practice. She now lives in Sorø and is known locally for her paintings, exhibited at Sorø Library's art corridor, Sorø Town Hall, the town museum, and in the municipality's 'Created in Sorø' project at Holberg Arkaden as part of the Art Soroe association.

The event is free but requires advance booking of a seat at the library or via the website. It takes place on the 1st floor with access by stairs and elevator. If the event is sold out, you can join the waiting list - if tickets become available, you will be notified via Place2book on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have booked a ticket and cannot attend, please cancel so the seat can be offered to others.

Parking is available on Storgade and the town square (time-limited), at Munkevænget, and at Holberg Arkaden with entrance from Rolighedsvej. Disabled parking is available in several locations on Storgade, including two spaces at Biblioteksporten leading to Den Grønne Scene.
