Danishness - The Mystery of Danish Folkishness

Author and PhD student Kristoffer Bayer explores the intellectual history of Danish folkishness. Folkishness is a concept that both unites and divides - and the struggle to define it has shaped Danish politics and culture from Grundtvig to the present day.

The lecture spans from popular movements to mackerel dinners, from Hal Koch to contemporary politics, and examines how folkishness has helped shape us as a nation.

This event is part of Sorø Folk University's programme of research-based lectures on philosophy, art, politics, astronomy, biology and history. Everyone is welcome - tickets are purchased by contacting the organisers. Coffee and tea are served; bring your own cup if you prefer.
